WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK?

WHAT SORT OF ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

We’re proudly a community centre for Jewish families to participate in Jewish services and other special events with their loved ones.  We are also a Kosher facility.   

We invite all residents to participate in a variety of programs and activities. Our wellbeing programs are tailored to your interests with both group and individual activities available.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Emmy Monash offers multiple options to suit your budget. Our prices are competitive and the variety of our room sizes mean you should find something that meets your needs perfectly. We also have two-bedroom apartment style residential rooms. Learn about accommodation pricing 

IS IT A SECURE ENVIRONMENT?

Yes! The entrances at Emmy have electronic doors that can only be accessed using a security pass. Residents and family members are issued security passes with access to areas that are relevant to their needs. We have reception on site six days a week who assist in screening all visitors during business hours.

WHAT IS PERSON-CENTRED CARE?

Person-centred care means you have a say in your care. It’s our job to make sure your choices are respected and that you’re treated with dignity. We’ll work with you to provide care that meets your needs.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I MOVE IN?

Tours are available any weekday and the admission process can begin the same day. Depending on availability and completion of paperwork, you may be able to move in within a number of days.

HOW WILL YOU HELP ME SETTLE IN?

We take the time to get to know you and your specific needs to help you settle in smoothly.

We understand it takes time adjusting to a new home and routine. Our friendly staff are here to help so please don’t hesitate to ask us anything. They are here to support you throughout this transition and while you’re at Emmy.     

We believe in ‘Ageing in Place’ which means that you won’t have to move as your needs change. You can stay at Emmy and we will adapt your type of care according to your needs.

We also have our own social counsellor to provide you and your family with guidance, support and education when you feel the need. 

HOW DO YOU CARE FOR RESIDENTS WITH DEMENTIA?

Our specialised Dementia Support Unit offers welcoming, secure and inclusive accommodation for those with dementia or cognitive impairments. It provides a safe residential environment where residents enjoy award-winning programs and person–centred care at all times. Admission is based on assessment of physical health, level of mobility and presenting behaviours and is subject to clinical/medical discretion. 

WILL MY MEALS BE KOSHER?

Yes! All meals at Emmy Monash are prepared in our Kosher kitchen and all products are sourced from the Melbourne Kosher List. Our kosher kitchen has a Mashgiach under the supervision of Rabbi Michoel Stern.  

Our multi-choice menus are seasonal and rotating. They are based on feedback from residents, so our dietitians and our Catering Team cater for a variety of tastes and dietary needs. 

Our crockery, cutlery and equipment are fully Kosher. Under no circumstances can microwaves, stoves, ovens and fridges for residents be used for heating/storing personal food not provided by Emmy Monash.

Food may only be heated up in the microwaves located in the various staff rooms. No cutlery or crockery may be removed from the dining rooms, cafes and/or serveries at any time.  

CAN I HAVE VISITORS?

We encourage family and visitors to visit you at any time. For security reasons, external doors are locked in the evening and visitors must press the security doorbell. 

If visitation is restricted for exceptional circumstances, your nominated next of kin will be advised and updated promptly. It is the responsibility of the next of kin and family to ensure that any correspondence from Emmy Monash regarding visitation is extended to any other family, visitors or companions. 

CAN I KEEP MY OWN DOCTOR?

We encourage you to maintain the relationship you have with your GP and any other specialists or doctors involved in your care. Many doctors visit their patients at Emmy Monash, and we welcome your doctor to do the same. We work closely with all practitioners to ensure that every aspect of your care is managed to a high standard. If you are looking for a new doctor, we can always recommend some excellent professionals.  


AM I ALLOWED PETS?

Family pets are welcome and encouraged to visit. However, to ensure that all residents feel secure and safe in their environment, all visitors who enter the premises with an animal must ensure their pet is always on a controllable leash.  

Pets may not be left unattended at any time during the visit, nor are they permitted in any area where food is handled or served. 

Pets are not permitted to stay overnight anywhere within Emmy Monash.

AM I ABLE TO HOST PRIVATE FUNCTIONS?

Absolutely! We have several spaces that can be booked for private events, including your apartment and our private dining rooms,. We can also arrange larger events in our function rooms.
