iPad Connect Project
Volunteer Jenny Gorog is one of several iPad specialists that offer focused support to residents as part of our iPad Connect Project. Jenny met with current participants, Sula Rozinski and Esther Wise to help them become more familiar with the various functions of the iPad. Funded by Gandel Philanthropy, the program incorporates individualised, skills based training for residents. The iPad Connect Project aims to provide basic operating instruction, including the ability to connect with family through Skype and email and accessing interest-based websites.
“Seeing the iPad Connect Project at Emmy in action, really confirmed our belief that connecting the elderly with the external world through the Internet, as well as introducing them to benefits of social media, can really have a positive and lasting impact on their personal well-being and potentially even reduce feelings of isolation.”
