Lily Stein and Rose Stach

Two residents celebrated their 100th birthdays in the month of July. In front of large gatherings, Rose Stach and Lily Stein were honoured, and messages from the Queen, Governor-General and Prime Minister read out. The Mayor of the City of Glen Eira, Cr Neil Pilling and David Southwick MP were in attendance on both occasions to present congratulatory certificates. Rose Stach’s son, Peter, described a generous and selfless woman and thanked Emmy Monash for the wonderful care that she receives. Friends of Lily Stein spoke of a remarkable and vibrant woman who, despite no family support, managed to live alone and independently up until the age of 90. With Lily and Rose, the total number of centurions at Emmy Monash has risen to an impressive total of five! Chief Executive Officer, Tanya Abramzon, enthused: “We are thrilled to care for such independent and spirited women and continue to offer them opportunities to lead meaningful lives.”
